Pro tips

  • Portrait 4:5 slides fill more of the screen than squares, so the panorama feels bigger and earns more swipe time.
  • Keep faces and key text away from the cut lines — a subject sliced in half is the fastest way to break the seamless illusion.
  • Post the slides in file-name order (01, 02, 03…) and don't re-crop them in Instagram, or the edges won't line up.
  • Make slide 1 work on its own: it's the only slide people see in the feed, so it has to earn the first swipe.
  • Instagram compresses every upload, so start from the sharpest source image you have — the slices can only be as crisp as the original.
